Art and travel have defined my life since, when in my early twenties, I spent a year hitchhiking through Europe with a sketchpad and a set of watercolors. As an art student at Northern Illinois University, I found myself able to use the language of art to connect with people.

It was the Caribbean, however, that made me the painter I am today. The explosion of vivid colors throughout nature in the tropics has been my inspiration, and there is always a watercolor image that surfaces in my imagination as I experience everyday life here in Honduras, my home of 30 years.
