Raised by American parents in Italy, Rosanne McKenney grew up surrounded by the art and architecture of Naples, developing an early appreciation for beauty and form. Though she didn’t formally study art in university, she pursued instruction whenever possible, beginning a lifelong exploration of what makes classical works timeless and resonant.

Rosanne and her husband Jeff moved their family to Honduras in 2000 to expand their charitable work, founding a hospital and school that continue to serve the local community. Living in a setting with limited access to art deepened her creative drive and inspired her to share it with others. Working primarily in oil, she tells stories with color, texture, and line, often using the female figure to express emotion and shared human experience. Her paintings capture simple moments of everyday life, occasionally weaving in symbolism and abstract elements. She teaches art and art history to Honduran students both in person and online.
