Our Mission
Community is at the heart of what we do. We’re driven by a passion for showcasing the talent, creativity, and cultural richness of the artists and artisans around us.

WoA Over the Years
It all began with a handful of hand-drawn t-shirt designs that Michele sold on the beaches of Roatán, after moving to the island in 1990. What started as a small creative venture evolved over the decades into a beloved series of gift shops across the island.
Eventually, Michele founded Waves of Art (WoA) in West End, where it became a hub for local artistry and culture. In 2022, WoA found a new home in Sandy Bay at Coral Stone Plaza, continuing its legacy of celebrating handcrafted work and community-rooted creativity.

Michele is the founder and owner of Waves of Art.
Art and travel have shaped Michele’s life ever since her early twenties, when she spent a year hitchhiking through Europe with a sketchpad and set of watercolors. As an art student at Northern Illinois University, she discovered the power of art as a universal language, a way to connect with people. However, it was the Caribbean that truly defined Michele as the painter she is today.
The vibrant explosion of color in nature across the tropics has been her greatest inspiration, and there is always a watercolor image that emerges in her mind as she goes about her daily life in Honduras, her home for the past 30 years.
Soqui lead the marketing & e-commerce for Waves of Art.
Growing up in a household with two artists parents, Soqui spent her childhood sketching and painting the natural beauty of Honduras. Influenced by her mother’s refined watercolor technique and her father’s playful approach to various mediums, she considers her artistic style to be a reflection of this duality: a balance between movement and structure, spontaneity and precision.
Today, she works in data analytics and continues to create in her spare time. Her path has taken her through Switzerland, the U.S., Colombia, Laos, Norway, Sweden, and now Spain—but the pull of home is strong, and she always finds her way back to the Bay Islands.
Meet Marley, our shop pup and loyal sidekick. He may not always be in the mood for getting pet, but he’s always in the mood to spread love (and a little bit of tail-wagging joy). 🐶✨
